Beginner friendly, ‘cut-and-come-again’, a crop that keeps on going and tastes as good as its namesake! Perpetual Spinach needs very little work and keeps on growing!

Grows to 30cm (12in) high.

Remove any flowering stems as they appear to make the leaves fill out. Cut leaves little and often from all the plants.

Make sure you begin to use them as soon as they are big enough to use. Remember, this is a ‘cut-and-come-again’ variety so make sure you only cut a few of the leaves from near the centre. One thing to remember, avoid over-picking too many from one plant at a time. Always have a few ‘on the go’ to spread the crop. They look great in one container or grown amongst other plants because they will mature earlier and give a good start to your display!

Cook and pick the leaves on the same day and remember to wash the leaves well, as with lettuce. Steam or gently fry with a knob of butter (optional) to cook and have fun using it in fillings for omelettes, as a base for poached eggs in ‘eggs Florentine,’ in soup and as a vegetable in its own right.
