A most attractive fresh green lettuce with frilly edges making a most complementary partner to Lollo Rossa. This is one of our ‘cut- and- come again varieties along with Lollo Rossa. The tender leaves have a very refreshing flavour and can be harvested for a long time.
Try planting both types in the same pot. The bright red of the Lollo Rossa contrasted with the vibrant green of the Lollo Bionda planted alternately or in their own clumps look fabulous. Get creative !
Make sure you begin to use them as soon as they are big enough to use. Remember, this is a ‘cut-and-come-again’ variety so make sure you only cut a few of the leaves from near the centre. One thing to remember, avoid picking too many from one lettuce at a time. Always have a few ‘on the go’ to spread the crop. They look great in one container or grown amongst other plants for a wonderful display !
Planting out
Water plants well before planting out and afterwards if soil is dry.
Feed fortnightly with liquid fertiliser.
Plant outside mid March unit mid August and harvest young leaves as required
