A hardy annual, Marigold grows to 60cm high and spreads to about 60cm. With lovely daisy shaped yellow or orange flowers bloom from spring to summer.
Marigolds are better in containers or borders than hanging baskets. Dead head the flowers over the summer to encouraging more blooms.
The petals can be used as a tea infusion, a culinary dye (poor man's saffron for rice), but also are nice in salads and omelettes.
