A new year begins with lots of promise. We know that food prices will be going up rather than down, so what better way of economising than growing a bit of your own. If you've not grown before, we'd always start you off with salad (if you like it) something easy and willing to grow like spinach. If you've a sunny spot peas, they grow satisfyingly fast so good for kiddie growers too. Fab in pots with a couple of canes and you're away.
